NYC's Art World
Countless artists have lived in New York City and been inspired by the city of lights, creating living, vibrant New York artwork. One, Childe Hassam, captured the city at key from the late nineteenth century and early twentieth century. He captured scenes of the Allies celebrating after World War One, painting flags fluttering down from hectic city streets. A pioneer of American Impressionism, Hassam also depicted New York City during the serene spring and winter seasons with paintings such as Washington Arch, Spring (1890) and Late Afternoon, New York Winter (1900).
