Shell Artwork

Seashells are a source of fascination for children and adults alike, which makes shell paintings perfect for your home. With our shell wall art, you can capture the majesty and sensitivity of seashells, and bring those beautiful memories right into the comfort of your living space. At The Canvas Art Factory, we use high-quality wall art, pictures, and photographs to create shell artwork that can be displayed anywhere at any time. These stunning shell paintings are ideal for a beach house décor or for any other setting where you wish to feature the beauty of seashells from the ocean seashore.

Seashells Symbolism

Seashells are homes to many animals that live inside them. They have come to symbolise birth, good fortune, and resurrection. Whichever beach one travels to, seashells will be found, whether they spot the beach or cover its entirety. In Western Australia, Shell Beach is known for having its entire shoreline covered in tiny seashells. It’s one of the rare cases where shells replace the sand. The site is so unique that UNESCO named it a World Heritage Site. Meanwhile, in the United States, Florida’s Sanibel Island is filled with shells too, but not to the level of Shell Beach.

Shells in Art

Seashells have a unique structure, making them a favourite still life subject for painters and photographers. The seashell's interesting and varying colour, as well as the spiral structure that form them, make them photogenic. One of the more famous uses of shells was in the Watts Towers in Los Angeles. The epic structure of the towers, built solely by Sabato Rodia, an Italian artist, using over 10,000 seashells in conjunction with other found objects and materials for a truly unique piece of shell artwork.
