The most important factor when enlarging a photo is
to be aware of the pixel size.
If the pixel size is too low for the size print that you want the image could look blurry or pixilated.
This means that your print may look as if it is breaking up. On our shape/size/finish guide we have supplied some tables which summarise the minimum recommended number of pixels for the canvas size that you're interested in. The larger the size canvas print you choose, the higher the number of megapixels your file must have.
1. Look at its Properties - to do this right click with your mouse on either your open image or your file name. Then choose Properties, and you will see the image width and height, along with other information. If you cannot see the width and height, look for a button called "Advanced" (sometimes under Summary).
2. Multiply these two numbers together to calculate the number of pixels.
For example, with most modern digital cameras, your image/file Properties may show:
width 2000 pixels
height 3000 pixels
There are 1 million pixels in a megapixel, so:
2000 x 3000 = 6,000,000 pixels
which means your file is 6 Megapixels.
3. Then Check the shape/size/finish guide and you'll see that you have almost the full range of SHAPE and SIZE options to choose from!

Some images may still be okay to enlarge even if they have not met the recommended pixel size so if you have a special picture that you really want to enlarge onto canvas please proceed however we will not be able to take responsibility for your dissatisfaction if you have not followed our recommendations.
