Tips for the Best Result

When you send us your uploaded photo you can include personalised requests from the selection below.  These requests can be done to your single canvas print or to multiple prints if you are ordering more than one copy of your photo.  Or we can combine variations, for example you may like to have your photo printed once in colour and a second print in black & white.  We will check to ensure that the requests you have chosen will be suitable to create from the file size you have uploaded and if there is anything you have requested which needs further discussion we will contact you.

CHOOSING YOUR SHAPE

When choosing your preferred shape you need consider the positioning of the subject in your picture and choose a frame shape that fits your subject. For instance don't choose a square frame when your subject is a full length person. If you want to have as much of your subject showing on the canvas as possible, then choose a rectangular (tall) shape. If you have a landscape or horizon photo, then long or extra long (panoramic) shapes are great - view a sample

FILE SIZE and CANVAS SIZE

When choosing your preferred shape you need consider the positioning of the subject in your picture and choose a frame shape that fits your subject. The most important factor when enlarging a photo is to be aware of the pixel size. The higher the pixel size the sharper the image. If the pixel size is too low for the size you want the image could look blurry or pixilated. This means that your print may look as if it is breaking up.  On our price list we have supplied a guide to the minimum recommended number of pixels for each canvas size. The larger the size you choose the higher the number of megapixels required.

To check the pixels in your picture look at its properties. To do this right click on your image with your mouse and you will see its height and width. Multiply these two numbers together to calculate the number of pixels. There are 1 million pixels in a megapixel. i.e. 2000x3000 = 6,000,000 pixels or 6 megapixels.

Some images may still be OK to enlarge even if they have not met the recommended pixel size so if you have a particularly special picture you really want put onto canvas please proceed and if we need to speak with you, we will get in touch, but simply put, the better your photo, the better the finished result!
