Question:  What does the term "Gicleé" mean?

Answer:  While it sounds fancy, it really just means "high quality ink-jet print". If we take a definition from wikipedia...  

"Giclée (pronounced "zhee-clay"), from French, is an invented name for the process of making fine art prints from a digital source using ink-jet printing. The word "giclée" is derived from the French language word "le gicleur" meaning "nozzle", or more specifically "gicler" meaning "to squirt, spurt, or spray".

The name was originally applied to fine art prints created on printers in a process invented in the early 1990s but has since come to mean any high quality ink-jet print and is often used in galleries and print shops to denote such prints.

So do we use a gicleé process", or "print gicleés"? Yes, we produce "high quality ink-jet prints." We use an independently tested canvas, pigment inks, kiln-dried bars and we have colour managed workflow to ensure colour accuracy.  

Anyone in the industry who says that their "gicleé" prints are different to "canvas prints" of a high quality are likely just trying to make their product sound better in some way.

Question:  How can I enlarge a photo of my dog?

Answer:  This was a question that a customer rang us about recently. After we discussed how to get the digital file off the camera and onto the computer, I explained how easy it would be to then just use this website to upload the photo and pick the size that would best suit the room.  Sometimes it's just the "not knowing" that stops you from getting those photos out and getting them displayed.  We see some amazing shots and regularly wonder how many more fantastic photos are probably hiding away in drawers or photo albums, to be seen once in a blue moon.  So here are some photos of "man's best friend", that have been enlarged onto canvas - we hope they give you the motivation to upload your own precious doggy photos.
